What are the smoking and drinking ages in Argentina?

I am taking a trip with my 18 year old son to Resistencia to visit some friends and was wondering what the ages are for him. Also are they enforced?

For both it is 18 years old.

And you will have no problem in Chaco!

not really, they sell anything to any one, they sell cigarretes to 12 year olds, they dont really care. and they legal REAL age is 18, your son can do what ever he wnts there, acually, you can even smoke marijuana on the streets, the cops dont say anything, and its going to becaome legal soon.

no its not really enforced and since hes 18, hes fine.

I went to Argentina in January, and a few people in my group were 18.  We went out almost every night, but no one was ever carded.  As mentioned before, 18 is the legal age, but it is not enforced at all.
