My husband is giving his brother a new system for his car and wants to know what are the best songs to pound to. He wants to make him a mixed cd to go with it.

Those are all great songs but for subwoofer songs you need to check out TECHMASTER P.E.B, and BASS MEKANIK. These are albums dedicated to bass.They also have subwooofer tests. Do use caution though. These songs do have extreme bass!

personally, i don't like rap, so i usually go with metal. usually speed metal or proggresive.

Usually its rap, it had some of the lowest notes, anything by Kanye West, 50 Cent, Lil' John, 36 Mafia, Tupac.  Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys comes to mind, and there are a lot of killer rock songs out there, Battery, and Balckened by Metallica come to mind as well, Godsmack and U2 too.  If he likes industrial than Nine Inch Nails, the newer album.

Totally depends on the frequency of his box/sub.

One song will sound awesome in one sub box, and not so good in another.

Madonna - "Vogue" is probably the hardest "hitting" song I've ever heard. (worth a listen)

Sir-Mix-A-Lot - "Posse on Broadway" good old school rap with great bass.
