The link above was provided by littlerobbergirl's it shows a number of different greenhouse gases released into the air by man and I guess for you nay sayers cow farts (due to man's need for beef). My question is quite simple what are the sources of the gases shown on the chart and what can be done to remove them from the atmosphere and/or stop their production. If anyone posts global warming is not real I will be laughing at them because I can. Hahaha dorks.

  1. I'm glad I looked at your question again, because I had the time to come out of 'attack mode' momentarily.

The fact is that there is no such thing as a 'Greenhouse Gas' in the first pace would make your question invalid in the first place, however, I do appreciate the link you supplied.

Anyone, who has the least amount of sense, whether they have any scientific background or not , should be able to look at this chart and realize what little impact man has on a global scale!

These are even figures supplied by th IPCC! (which to say at the very least are most fallible.)

What it does show is how minimal all so-called 'Greenhouse gases', which might be attributable to mankind, are so minute since 1750 as to be completely discarded!

I encourage everyone to at least look at your link.

If it just looks like a lot of numbers and percentages that they can not comprehend, then they have no business 'spouting their beliefs', since they have already proved that they haven't got two braincells that are able to coordinate with each other in the first place, and are probably best situated for a career in politics!

You can not deny that we are in a period of general global warming conditions which began between 15,000 and 25,000 years ago. The fact that man can have no impact nor influence in any way is constantly overlooked!!

Mankind has much to answer for, but 'Global Warming' is not one of them!

I say enjoy what you have right now, because you will not appreciate the alternative!(Another major volcanic event could s***w this up for us all, practically over night!)

  2. Executive Summary

    http://www.climatescience.gov/Library/sa...

ES.4 What are the primary carbon sources and sinks

in North America, and how and why are they changing?

The extraction of fossil-fuels and other primary energy sources and their conversion to energy commodities and services, including electricity generation, is the single largest contributor to the North American fossil-fuel source, accounting for approximately 42% of North American fossil emissions in 2003 (Chapter 6 this report).

More than half of electricity produced in North America

(67% in the United States) is consumed in buildings, making

that single use one of the largest factors in North American emissions (Chapter 9 this report).

The transportation sector of North America accounted

for 31% of total North American emissions in 2003, most

(87%) of it from the United States (Chapter 7 this report).

Emissions from North American industry (not including

fossil-fuel mining and processing or electricity

generation) are a relatively small (12%) and declining

component of North America’s emissions (Chapter 8 this

    report).

The remaining portion (approximately 15%) of North

American fossil-fuel emissions includes those from other

sectors. This includes natural gas and other non-electrical

fossil energy used in residential and commercial buildings

    and fuels used in agriculture.

  3. The major ones are electric power plants and vehicles.

We need to build alternative power plants; nuclear, solar, wind.  And vehicles to run off of electricity or hydrogen generated by those plants.

Conserving energy can also provide major reductions.

  4. Bean burritos

  5. Read it and weep.

  6. stop burning coal and oil.

which implies finding/using other sources of power.

which likely means nuclear since it's the only fuel with sufficient capacity to supply our current energy needs.

    significantly increase fuel mileage requirements.

we're certainly not going to turn into a walking society.

so we need to reduce the power needed.

    promote vegetarianism.

which both reduces methane, and dramatically increases the food supply.

cover up old (and new) dumps, recover the methane use it for power generation, and keep it out of the atmosphere.

that takes care of the first 3, assuming that nitrous oxide comes from coal and oil.  i'd not bother looking below that until i made some progress here.

  7. Nothing I can think of that can be done. If we stop producing CO2, maybe the CO2 in the atmosphere will start to drop through rain or something to the earth. It is only a matter of time.
