  1. puteen (not sure of spelling) reg fries with brown gravy and cheese on it. you can even get it at burger king. bone marrow on crostini is great as well.

  2. I know of 3.......

    1. The first my friend is spelled Poutine.....

Its veal stock and some wine and cheese mixed in it. Ladled over fries.......

    2. The second, Toutiere.......

Its a french meat pie. Almost like shepherds pie.....

    3. Finally the most divine of creations. Foie Gras, I the liver of a duck or goose (DEPENDS, where you are in the world and the laws the control the state). It is force feed tell its fattened up. Till its time, the the liver is taken out. This is a very fatty but nutritious liver. Though it being fatty, it contains polyunsaturated fats that are good for you........

    BON APPETIT

  3. Paté chinoix !

  4. I really don't think they ate poutine in 1840 !!!!

The diet in Quebec in 1840, and still is, rich with game.  Rabbit stew, venison, moose.

And ofcourse, maple syrup to make sugar pie.  Mmmmm..I can feel my teeth hurting already.

  5. Poutine and tourtiere are definitely two of the specialties although they would not classified as gourmet food.  You have to try the "Ragout de pattes" which is excellent.  Excellent side dish  "cretons", a spread like concoction that is absolutely the best taste you ever had in your mouth.  Quebec cuisine is unlike any other, same ingredients, same dishes, but cooked different, it is hard to explain.
