What are the specific pass/fail factors for parallel parking for the Pennsylvania road test?

I'm taking my driver's test in early June and I was wondering what the exact requirements are for the parallel parking portion of the test. How many times are you allowed to reverse? If you hit the curb do you fail? If you pull out and restart do you fail? etc. Anyone with information I'd appreciate your help or a link to a source that could help. Thanks!

  1. Pass...................you park correctly, use your mirrors and park the first time.

Fail....................you hit the curb or cones, you park more than 12 inches from the curb, you dont use your mirrors or you dont do it on the first try.

  2. it really depends on how your instructor is feeling that day.

try not to hit the curb, don't hit the barrels in the front and back.  When i took it, the rule was you could pull forwards and back 3 times to straighten up.  DO NOT pull out and restart, they will probably fail you.  Make sure you use your turn signals when pulling in and out.  Turn around when backing up.  I used my mirrors only and my instructor told me he could've failed me for that, but he didn't.  Put the car in park when you are finished parking.  Try to be within a foot of the curb.

I can't think of anything else.  Just go practice.  I don't know what its like in your area, but when i was practicing, i would go to the dmv after they were closed and practice in their parallel parking spot so i was used to it.  That might be a good idea for you too.
