  2. Hi, I lost connection, so this wont be as long. I wrote you a long list earlier, if you want IM me, otherwise here is what it is. Roman Catholic Church requires marriage in the church for it to be valid. Sorry them's the rules, so if your wanting your marriage to be recognized as legit both of you will have to take prep classes. Engaged encounter, this is a weekend, and natural family planning, 2 hour class. Together they cost about $400. The music at the ceremony must be secular, and I am assuming since you asked one or both of you must be Catholic, so make sure either whichever person, or both people are confirmed. Otherwise you have to RCIA, classes. If one is confirmed and Catholic, then the other must sign a paper before the marriage ceremony stating all children brought into the marriage will be baptized and raised Catholic, notice it says that is the obligation that falls on the parents, you can not force a child to do something they do not want to do, but you take the responsibly till their 18, to raise them as such. I know all of this because my husband was a confirmed Catholic, and I had no religious preference. I did convert, but because I wanted to, no matter what if you want your marriage to be recognized by the church you must take those two classes and you must be married inside the Church, no ceremony outside is allowed, as far as I know, at least that is what we were told. Good LUCK and If you wish IM I have tons more I could tell you. Also again this is only for a Roman Catholic Ceremony, and not an Orthodox Catholic. Found out something else Sacramental Preparation for Marriage Convalidation, is what you will need information on since your already civily married.
