What are the specifications for a package that you have sign for at delivery?

I need to know if I need to sign for a package or if it will just get dropped off at my house, and if there is a wieght or size limit which determins whether or not you have to sign for it. I'm using UPS.

  1. The sender determines all that.

    UPS usually requires a signature.  If you are not there they will leave you a note.  You can go pick up your package or they will try and re-deliver another day.


  2. Sometimes when i order stuff off the internet [thats in a box] i have to sign for it, But if its a little package they will just knock on your door and leave the package on your doorstep, which is sooo messed up..

  3. I think it's requested by the sender.
