I am interested in the market for Paulownia wood in the US, as well as exporting. Even though agricultural and University studies have been done, it seems that one has to really search to find anything published on the subject. Research will show that there are great benefits from this tree, including erosion control, water purification, control of Nitrate contamination, alternative crops for small farms, multi crop use, not to mention the nitrogen use of the leaves, the benefits of renewable resource( the world's fastest growing hardwood)! The lumber is fast drying, warp proof, water resistant great for use as moldings, etc.
What areas of the US are most of the Paulownia plantations located, other than GA & CA?
Does anyone have info, interests, etc. on this subject?
I know about the possible invasiveness of the tree in some areas, I am interested only in the forestry division, the wood use in the US, best areas to grow, financial benefits, etc.
