What are the stats on women who have lied to their significant other about their child's father?

Women look for two things in a mate, (a) men who will

provide good genetic material and (b) men who will be good providers for her and her offspring. Now, I am sure there is a large number of females who cover part a and part b with two different males. So, does anyone have any data on how many kids have a different father, and the supposed father doesn't even know about it.

I had read an informal study a few years ago estimating that anywhere from 5%-10% of American men are unknowingly raising the child who is not their own. An excellent, eye-opening article about love, paternity, trust, and the meaning of fatherhood.

Insist upon a paternity test if you are not 100% sure the child is yours. If the mother refuses, then you have your answer already.
