What are the steps to becoming a Probation Officer in California?

I have just become a senior in high school and i was considering a job as a probation officer, but i am kind of clueless of the requirements, or any thing that is need to becoming a probation officer. So if anyone can help me out that would be great.

Being that it's a sworn peace officer position, you'll usually need an AA degree in administration of Justice or a related field (Sociology). I'd highly recommend Sociology as it's one of the easiest degrees to obtain.
