  1. The stereotypes are that we are either survivalists, far out hippies, crack heads who cannot be bothered to get our kids on the bus each day, over protective types or extreme far right fundamentalist Christians.

Those stereotypes are about as accurate as any other stereotype that has been used to slander a group of people.

  2. sleep till noon every day, do school in PJ's. very sheltered no friends. there are alot more but those are the ones I remember running into the most

  3. Fiercely Independent

    Knowledgeable / Well Educated

    Politically active

    Accepted to top colleges

    Spelling Bee winners

    Polite

    Respectful

    Conscientious

    Involved

    Dedicated

    Interesting

Well... that is my perspective on it, anyway.

  4. The kids are: hippies, freaks, ultra religious, sheltered, don't know anything about the real world, socially retarded, friendless, and poorly educated (or the reverse--super smart).

The parents are: hippies, freaks, over-protective, ultra religious, afraid of the world, ruining their kids...

  5. I have a friend who have a lot of brothers and sisters.  Their parents did not want to send them to public school because they wanted them to have religion every day and they could not afford catholic or privite school. So now they are all homeschooled except for the oldest who is in college.

They are all really nice and they also sometimes have classes with others who are homeschooled when their parents are sick.  They do Irish Step Dance with me but their school work comes first they are the best friends ever

  6. Many of my friends are homeschooled, but I attend a public school which will probably change in the near future. They seem to be classified as goody to shoes. I don't have a problem with that. They're my friends, and I don't want them to change.

  7. We're all crazy, far right wing, Conservative Christians, who lock their kids up in a closet to prevent our kids from socializing with any one!

I think that sums it up in one long run on sentence!

Truth is that none of that really holds true in today's world!

We are Conservative Christians (but not the far right wing crazy type), and if I kept my kids inside and prevented all socialization I would go NUTS!!! I need time with them outside so I can relax!
