Question:

What are the strange bugs I found in my kitchen?

Today I found two strange bugs near one another in my kitchen. Attached to the windowsill were two small pieces of what looked like tree bark, very small and thin pieces, with little worms or caterpillars halfway out of them. The fact that they were so near one another, and each piece of wood/bark was attached to the sill makes me think it was the reproductive method of some sort of bug. Has anyone seen this before?

  1. I believe the link in the previous answer is Australia-specific so just in case you live in the U.S. or someplace, this is what I get in my house occasionally...they apparently eat pet hair which I definitely have plenty of. They turn into little nondescript moths, some of which apparently eat clothes.

  2. They sound like Case Moths, or if you are in the US, they are called Bagworms - same type of animal but different name.

Here are some pic's and info. about them:

    Hope that helps.

Added: The link in my answer is a link to an Australian website, but as I said, they are called Bagworms in the US. In other words, they are also in the US.
