  1. Please!!! It is not U.S. Customs anymore!

It is U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Border Patrol is a sub-division of Customs and Border Protection. The Border Patrol used to be a part of INS, but both Customs and INS were decommissioned on March 1, 2003.

Now the agency that guards the border is called Customs & Border Protection. Its strength is in its potential. It has the potential to be very effective. It has a large staff and they are adding employees every month.

Its weakness is that it loses about 70 employee every two weeks, and many of them have years of experience and technical knowledge that will take years to replace. Many of the program managers are not experts in their areas of responsibility. The two mentalities, immigration and customs, are designed to accomplish two different goals, and the fiction that there can be one mentality to accomplish the goals of the organization is hurting progress.

The challenges are too many to list, but the war on drug smuggling and the fight against illegal aliens seeking entry through our ports of entry are the two major challenges. Of course, the entry of aliens without inspection is a 3rd challenge, but it's nothing new.

  2. Weaknesses, not enough firepower.

  3. They try to keep illegal immigrants from getting into the United States if they were wanting trouble.  And the border is quite long between the usa and Mexico and it is not an easy job!

  4. Strengths  not many

weakness, lack of funding, lack of man power

opportunity, to keep us all safe

    challenges, 12million  Mexicans?
