  1. The only subgroup of Homo sapiens are Homo sapiens sapiens (us today).

Neanderthals are a subgroup of Homo (Homo neanderthalensis), but are not Homo sapiens.

Cro-Magnon is sort of an informal name, and does not fit into the standard taxonomy, but most people recognize the name as referring to early modern humans (sapiens).

  2. Mexicans, and Americans.

  3. Technically it's just Homo sapiens sapiens and Neanderthals. Some might also say Homo heidelbergensis (archaic Homo sapiens), but that's controversial.

By the way Neanderthals are indeed Homo sapiens.

    Homo sapiens neanderthalensis.
