My brother has autism. He got a new doctor about a year ago, and the doctor said that he most likely also have Limes Disease. I've never known much about it, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their knowledge of or experience with Limes Disease. Does it affect behavior or is it just an inward health problem? How can you tell if someone has Limes Disease? And is it deadly?

  1. Lyme (proper spelling) disease is an infection that comes from a tick (small blood sucking mite) bite.  The symptoms with this infection are drowsiness, headaches, mild fever, joint and muscle pains, and swollen glands.

Usually the doctor will prescribe an antibiotic for this.

No it has nothing to do with autism.

Hope your brother feels better soon.  Good Luck!

  2. Keep that doctor.  My children no longer have autism.  I have done much research and found out that the number one cause behind many chronic conditions today, such as autism, appears to be lyme.  Lyme damages an area of the immune system, natural killer cells, that rid intracellular pathogens.  This disabling of the immune system renders the child unable to react to kill the germ, so they don't show acute signs of illness, but rather they show chronic signs instead due to the germs and toxins now growing and stockpiling.  Due to lyme acting in this manner, there is no symptom is does not cause.  All the numerous postings on the forums that I have seen is that one never has only lyme, but also lyme coinfections, which are other germs commonly found in animals.  Almost everyone tests positive for Bartonella.  But basically, know that one can live with lyme their whole life and never have a noticeable symptom or one can die from it.  It depends upon other things the person has, is exposed to, etc.  World famous doctors who are reversing autism by treating for lyme, say that mold, cell phones and other wireless gadgetry, vaccines, gmo foods, etc. make the lyme worse.  Thus, know many things decide how much the lyme will effect one.  These childen's parents are testing positive for lyme, including their siblings, whether showing signs of illness or not.  Thus, its a family thing, apparently been around for generations.  Also know that you just can't go get a lyme test and take some antibiotics most of the time.  Lyme testing is not reliable because lyme does not like to live in the blood, plus it disables the body's abilty to make antibodies, so the tests can not pick up those antibodies.  Thus, testing is a trick.  Also, most will not get well just by taking antibiotics.  Now the person is full of all kinds of pathogens and toxins, due to the lyme causing this situation.  One is likely not ever cured, and really more in remission.  At any point, another immune system stressor can trigger the lyme to again over-take the person.  You can go to Yahoo Groups on autism and lyme or autism and borrelia and learn all kinds of great information.  If you google the words lyme and autism together, you should also find all kinds of great reports on this.  This is cutting edge.  Keep that doctor!

  3. Lyme disease is an illness caused by the bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi, which can be spread through the bite of certain types of ticks. Lyme disease in humans can have serious symptoms but can be effectively treated. Cases of Lyme disease have been reported in parts of Europe, Asia, and throughout much of North America.

The symptoms of Lyme disease are often described in three stages, although not all patients have symptoms of each stage. The first sign of infection is usually a circular rash called erythema migrans or EM. This rash occurs in about 70-80% of infected persons and begins at the site of the tick bite after a delay of three days to one month. Patients often also experience symptoms such as:

    -  fatigue

    -  chills

    -  fever

    -  headache

    -  muscle and joint pain

    -  swollen lymph nodes.

If the infection goes untreated, the second stage of the disease can last up to several months with possible symptoms including:

    -  central and peripheral nervous system disorders

    -  multiple skin rashes

    -  arthritis and arthritic symptoms

    -  heart palpitations

    -  extreme fatigue and general weakness

If the infection continues to go untreated, the third stage of the disease can last months to years with possible symptoms including, chronic arthritis and neurological symptoms.

Fatalities from Lyme disease are rare. However, undiagnosed Lyme disease may develop into chronic disease that may be difficult to treat.
