Hi,

This question is for my Mother. She was always fit n fine by God's grace. No smoking, no drinking, no tobacco.

Last week, she felt something like a lump in her throat. The size of the lump gradually increased. But there is no sign of any pain.

She consulted an ENT doctor right away. The doctor asked her to go for a Blood Test, Urine Test, Chest X-Ray & Scanning and Abdomin Scanning. The reports came out to be normal (Can Throat Cancer be detected with this diagnosis??). He then prescribed some medicines for 10 days. After starting medication, there was a reduction in the size of the lump. But now there is no any change in the size. It has been 7 days since she started taking medicine. But still there is absolutely no pain in the lump.

Is this a symptom of Throat Cancer?? Reports came out normal but I am not sure if this is the right way to diagnosis Throat Cancer.

Please help with your comments and pray for my Mother. I am very worried about this.

  3. What you have mentioned does not seem to be cancer. But it is essential to get it confirmed by a Oncologist. He may get some more tests done for finding  the actual position.

    The general symptoms are -

    Signs and symptoms of throat cancer may include:

        * Cough

        * Changes in your voice, such as hoarseness

        * Difficulty swallowing

        * Ear pain

        * Lump or sore that doesn't heal

        * Sore throat

        * Weight loss

    When to see a doctor

    Make an appointment with your doctor if you notice any new signs and symptoms that are persistent and last more than two weeks. Most throat cancer symptoms aren't specific to cancer, so your doctor will likely investigate other more common causes first.

    I pray for her well being and plese do not worry.-
