  1. if you were to google it, you would get so much more information. They have many websites dedicated to this topic.

  2. unexplained mood swings.  Sometimes extreme mood changes.  The feeling of low self worth.  Low confidence.  I suffer from depression and there are days that I laugh and joke around and then there are the days where I stay in bed crying all day for no reason.  I usually have no idea why I'm so sad.  I'm taking Abilify and it seems to help a lot.

  3. Generally people fell like they have a 'black cloud' of negative feeling around them all the time which they cannot shake. People feel like there's no way out of whatever they perceive their negative situation to be and tend to begin to hide away, not leaving the house ("what's the point?") and generally not caring about their friends/family cos they're either 'against them' or 'don't understand'. It's a very lonely place.

If you are depressed though I would STRONGLY suggest that you don't get medicated and that you see a psychiatrist instead. I know a LOT of people who's lives have been ruined by diagnosis of depressants for mild depression when counseling would have sorted it out.

  4. Spending too much time on YA.

  5. Loss of appetite, or uncontrolled eating, insomnia or too much sleeping. Feelings of worthlessness, unexplained crying episodes. A feeling that something is wrong, but unexplainable. No interest in past hobbies, friends, etc. (avoiding a ringing phone, because you don't want to talk to anyone)

Even if you are not sure please talk to a doctor or a nurse about your feelings. A professional can evaluate you and determine if you have symptoms of clinical depression and get you the right help. Whatever you do don't ignore it or allow anyone to tell you that 'everything will be okay'. If you are feeling bad act on it. Depression can creep up on you quickly and hurt you. Importantly if you feel like hurting yourself, call a depresssion or suicide hotline immediately if there is no one you can talk to. At these times you may not be able to see past tomorrow, but there is hope and a future. Just try to get through each minute, take deep breaths and relax. Count the next minute and do the same. Commend yourself for accomplishing the simple task of gettting through those few moments. You will soon be taking life hourly, then daily and back on the road to wellness. Please don't try to get through depression alone. There are people who care and want to help you.

Hope I have helped. Been there.... done that. Everyday is a beautiful day.
