  1. Hydrocodone is a very addictive pain medicine!  After a surgery, I was given a 7 day supply and ran out in 4 days.  I had to take the max dosage to ease the pain.  When I ran out, I called the doctor who (thankfully) did not prescribe me more.  Instead, he advised me to take ibuprofen or tylenol.  The pain was unbearable for a day, then started to subside.

Your body likes the feeling of the meds and the pain is part of the physical addiction to the drug.

  2. You can ge flu like symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarea, etc.) sweating, heart palpitations, irritable, and several more.  But in a nut shell just feel lousy.  If you tell your doctor your feeling these symptoms they should give you a smaller dose less frequently to ween you off slowly you will have a better chance of staying off the drug this way. good luck
