bcoz after i have reformatted my laptop, when i was going to watch my downloaded videos from mininova.org,it would'nt open with the microsoft windows player, only the sound is being played, there's no image. also, what are those SEEDS and LEECHERS? is it advisable that the more seeds and leechers, the greater the quality of the movie or is it the other way around?

  1. To run the movie download the latest video codecs from http://www.free-codecs.com/

Yes its advisable to have more seeder count if you want to download the movie with good download speed. But the quality of movie downloaded is no way related of seeders or leechers.

  2. K-Lite Codec's (321) don't bother configuring, its an interactive program, leave all the box's blank...download...job done..now try playing your video again.

  3. You will get caught doing stupid stuff like that. If you  are on here asking stupid questions like this, you are not smart enough to pirate anything and you will get caught.

  4. you don't have the correct codecs installed to play your videos.  download acemegacodecs package on mininova.    the seeds are people you can download from and the leechers are people downloading from you.  they have no effect on the quality of your video, just on whether or not you can get the video. sharing most video this way is illegal, especially new release movies and television shows from nbc they love to prosecute!

  5. The Windows Media Player issue is probably due to codecs.  WMP is not set up to play a variety of encoded media.  The easiest thing to try is the free media player VLC.  it has most codecs installed within it and will play most anything:

A “seed” is someone who has downloaded 100% of the content and is only uploading to peers in the swarm.  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€ÂœPeers” are those who have less than 100% of the content and are downloading from seeds and other peers and uploading to other peers.

Originally (and still in some places), those in the swarm who had less than 100% of the content were referred to as “leeches” and the combined seeds/leeches were referred to as peers.  However, because of the negative connotations of the term “leeches”, those in the swarm with less than 100% of the content are now referred to as peers and “leeches” are those who download the content, but do not upload back at least a full copy of the content.

The amount of seeds/leechers (peers) has nothing to do with the film quality.  They have to do with the speed of the download and generally it is best to have a high seed to peer ratio (more seeds than peers):

Movie quality is harder to determine.  The best way is to read the comments on a release.
