  1. teams are the people who are funding the car and who work on the car... Junior's team consist of hendericks motorsports and his pit crew... they all help to run the car

  2. Basically its just a owner who has drivers they consider those teams. like Joe Gibbs racing(JGR) have Denny hamlin, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch i thnk im forgetting someone, but Hendrick motor sports have Dale Jr, Jimmy J, jeff gordan, kasey mears. but some owners have 1 or 2 cars not big super power teams, but being on a team has no advantage they are all out their to win the team aspect and advantes come in sharing information about race car set ups and stuff like that if one person wins the other team mates arent happy they are mad cuz they lost so its more of like a business aspect and considered a team like that kind of way

  3. Yes, usually referring to different race teams.

  4. Teams have 2 definitions in NASCAR.

    1.  A race team is technically a car, driver and everyone who works on it.  So, Jeff Gordon's team is the 24 crew.

    2.  When a car owner owns multiple cars, all of the cars are on the same "team" and are teammates.

    These are NASCAR's "teams":

    Dale Earnhardt Inc

    01~ Regan Smith

    8~ Mark Martin/ Aric Almirola

    1~ Martin Truex Jr

    15~ Paul Menard

    Michael Waltrip Racing

    00~ Michael McDowell

    44~ David Reutimann

    55~ Michael Waltrip

    99~ Carl Edwards

    Gillett Evernham Motorsports

    9~ Kasey Kahne

    10~ Patrick Carpentier

    19~ Elliott Sadler

** The 7 of Robby Gordon (owned by Robby Gordon Motorsports- which is a single car team) has an alliance with GEM and will sometimes refer to its drivers as his teammates.

    Joe Gibbs Racing

    11~ Denny Hamlin

    18~ Kyle Busch

    20~ Tony Stewart

    Yates Racing

    28~ Travis Kvapil

    38~ David Gilliland

    Chip Ganassi Racing

    40~ Dario Franchitti

    45~ Kyle Petty/ Terry Labonte/ Chad McCumbee

    Haas CNC Racing

    66~ Scott Riggs

70~ Johnny Sauter (varies a lot)

    Red Bull Racing

    83~ Brian Vickers

    84~ AJ Allmendinger

** The 96 of JJ Yeley has an alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing but is a single car team

The Wood Brothers (21~ Bill Elliott), Furniture Row Motorsports (78~Joe Nemechek), Front Row Racing (34), etc...  are all single car teams with no teammates.

  5. Team as in the Owners or Teams as in driver teams?

Owners you have Hendrick Mtrsprts, RCR, Roush-Fenway, Penske, MWR, DEI, and some other teams

In these specific owner teams, there are drivers whose cars are owned by the owners of the group

For example Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, and Dale Jr. are all teammates

You really have to know a lot of NASCAR to keep up with teammates and when they mention them....

  6. Teams in NASCAR are just like those in other sports, except that its cars rather than players.  For example, Hendrick Motorsports has Jeff Gordon, Jimmie

Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Casey Mears - 4 "players", as it were.

However, not all teams are equal.  There are one-car teams, two-car teams, and multi-car teams.

In short, when you hear "team", think "race shop" or "company".

  7. teams are cars owned by a certain person, Like Hendrick Motorsports and DEI, teams can also be identified as a single car, like Dale Jr. is part of the #88 team, or Tony Eury Jr. is crew chief for the #88 team etc.
