    It is called a Fantasy play, it is also a problem play and his last play.  Written after the death of his son Hamnet. (in real life).  Like the other problem plays (A winters Tale, Cymberline) it deals with the loss and the reunion of a child.

    The breaking of the staff by P can be see as Shakespeares last farewell to the stage.
