  1. Monkey bite apple and now bible thumper mad.

  2. The best of the answers from all the assumptions.

I see brave zulu rattling his spear again. Ten points please.

  3. Unlike creationism there's only one theory of evolution.

"evolution, simply put, is descent with modification. This definition encompasses small-scale evolution (changes in gene frequency in a population from one generation to the next) and large-scale evolution (the descent of different species from a common ancestor over many generations). "

The mechanism of evolution is natural selection. In any species there is variation between individural members. Some individuals have traits that allow them to survive better and live to reproduce. Their descendants may have the same traits and hence have a better change of passing their genes on.

The best site to learn about evolution is:

National Academy of Sciences: (Guidebook on Evolution)

    To quote from this source:

"Evolution in the broadest sense explains that what we see today is different from what existed in the past. Galaxies, stars, the solar system, and earth have changed through time, and so has life on earth.

Biological evolution concerns changes in living things during the history of life on earth. It explains that living things share common ancestors. Over time, evolutionary change gives rise to new species. Darwin called this process "descent with modification," and it remains a good definition of biological evolution today."

  4. There is only one theory of evolution the others are hypothesis. A theory is the best explanation of ALL the facts. A hypothesis is just what some person dreamt up to try and explain, you know, like creationism.

  5. Over vast amounts of time, forms of life change!

  6. I do not usually like repeating answers that others have already given, and I do not expect 10 point for this, but the answer does deserve repeating. There is ONE theory of evolution - The Theory of Evolution. Scientifically accepted the world over, except for a few folks in the US who would rather be descended from dirt than from a monkey.

  7. There is only one theory in biology that explains evolution and that is natural selection.  Intelligent design is nothing but an attempt by religious people to try and convince the supreme court that they are scientific to allow them to teach religion in school.   All of their distortions of logic and ideas have been totally discredited and are not valid scientific theories. Intelligent design has no place in the science curriculum any more than teaching the world is flat or the heavens revolve around the Earth.
