What are the things called that you can't swim past in lakes or separate the shallow from deep end?

maybe they're called booies? but i looked it up on google and not much is coming up haha... it's just rly bugging me

  2. I think you mean those rope dividers that look like lane lines in a pool. Lane lines have cicular floats on them that separate swimmers from each other. They can be used as dividers in pools accross the deep end to keep swimmers out of a diving area. or to make a drop off at a lake.
