What are the things in life that no matter how you put it, it cannot be possibly be together?

Well, I just need some ideas to spice up my writing a little bit.:D

It can be something from our everyday life, like the 2 poles of a magnet, you cannot actually put opposites sides together, right? But you can try..

Just anything. Some things we're familiar with..

I'm in a mental block right now, so if you can give me a hand, it'll be greatly appreciated!:)

You CAN put two like poles of magnets together.  It just takes more effort to do it.

Meanwhile, most life forms that we know cannot exist in a vacuum.  You cannot have a flower box of pansies hanging outside of a space ship's window.

For different reasons, you wouldn't see a flower box of pansies planted outside of an igloo in the arctic winter.

Asters wouldn't grow in a tropical rainforest because the climate wouldn't be suitible.

There are medical conditions that do not allow some people to expose themselves to direct sunlight.  A human being cannot reach into a pool of lava and come out with a handfull of molten rock with his bare hands.

Oil and water.  Mistaking salt for sugar when baking cookies or cake.  That just never works and tastes nasty.
