What are the things most Americans love to chat about?

sports, celebrities, dieting, shopping, family gossip.

Americans are pretty shallow.

I visited Greece once and got into a conversation with a goat herder there. He spoke flawless English. He and I discussed the history of greece and then the conversation turned to the rise of nation states and the spread of capitalism.

Such conversation from an ordinary American is unheard of.

For US folks, the dumber the better.

It really varies a lot, considering we all come from different religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds and born in different regions, but to really answer your qeustion; we chat about most the stuff anyone would talk about. We talk about sports, politics(especially now with elections coming up), and about friends. We chat about what we are going to do next weekend and about who we love and who we hate, it really is like anyone else.
