I will go to Hawaii during the Labor Day Weekend with my wife (4days & 3nights). We'll stay in Waikiki. We want to go to the best beach! (cleanest water and whitest sand). We would also want to try snorkeling or dolphin watching. Or if there is scuba diving for 1st timers. And of course we want to attend Luau but we don't know where. Please help us with your info. Thanks!

Eat and shop at the International Market.

Enjoy a day at the beach.

Tour the island on the Bus. It’s one of the best ways to see the island.

Pose for photos in front of the Duke Kahanamoku Statute. There is a live web cam there, so you can call one of your friends that are on the net, give them the address, and wave to them live.

  2. Look up the Polynesian Cultural Center for the luau.  You can snorkle in Hanama Bay.  You can shop, eat, and Waikiki Beach is beautiful.  No matter where you go on the island, you will be near a beach, so check them all out.  It's to bad you don't have more time there.  It is a beautiful place.

  3. Hit up Waikiki! It's amazing to see in person... Or Pearl Harbor is pretty amazing too!  It's so wierd to see pics and it on TV and then actually see it person!

Pick up the Oahu Saver book...you can find them everywhere...they have some good deals on Activities! Also download the 'Trip Advisor' site I gave above..

The Best way to get around is Public Transportation...Traffic on Oahu is outrageous...so I would only rent a car for a day or two to get to the other side of the Island..North Shore

  5. I went there in 1994 and had a great time. You will totally enjoy it. Pearl Harbor is a must visit. The Polynesian Center is a great idea. I love Geography, so I enjoyed going to Honolulu to see the capital building. There are some great surfing spots if you enjoy that (Sunset Beach, Banzai Pipeline), etc.

  6. Get out of Waikiki!  The surf's very good there right now, and you can go by Diamond Head, but you should get out of Waikiki for the best experience.  Luau:  Polynesian Cultural Center is good (also expensive), also check Germaine's and Paradise Cove.  All are good.  There is also a Friday night buffet at the Willow's Restaurant, a short taxi ride from Waikiki (or 10 mins by car).

The person above has a good list of activities.  If you go to Pearl Harbor, go to all the sites and get there EARLY.
