What are the things you need to prepare for an IB test/application? (In Canada)?

I am soon going into grade 8 and during November or December, we can apply for an IB program by taking tests and interviews (but you go into IB in grade 9). For those of you who entered IB in recent years (I heard that they used to make it a writing essay only), what are the majority of the interviews/tests based on? Which subjects do you think I need to prepare the most? Do you think I should takes tutors and extra classes? Help please!!

i was currently in the eighth grade and i applied for IB i made it! i'm in the U.S so i don't know how they do it in canada. but you shouldn't really worry yourself though. when i applied i sent in an application. then they sent me another application that asks you to list things you have accomplished. books you have read, awards you received, and programs that you participate in. then they call you for your interview. they ask you questions like why did you apply for the IB. which colleges you would like to go to. do you think the IB will be too hard for you. Is your family suporting you on your choice. etcetera.. then you are given a paper and some topics to write on. they choose you based on your grades, behavior and standardized tests.
