  1. the job of congress is to gain political power at all costs and use any means in order to achieve it. besides that, its their job to rebuke turkey for something that happened more than 90 years ago, and give congressional medals of honor to the dali llama in tibet, and censure private citizens who criticize them on the radio. the job of the judicial branch is to "inerpret" the laws that congress has made when the law was written so badly that noone can understand it, and, when there is no law regarding issues that come up, it pretends that there are laws that govern it or they cite foreign laws to make us feel like we are a part of the world community. the job of the president is .... basically God. the president must ensure that nothing bad happens to anyone in this country. everything is the fault of the president no matter what.  we can feel good knowing that if anything goes wrong, there is someone who we can take it all out on.

  2. In the USA the 3 branches of government are as follows:

    The Executive Branch is comprised of the President and the President's Cabinet officers; (the President is Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, appoints the Cabinet officers, and oversees the various agencies and departments of the US government) (wiki) (The President rules through the delegation of authority to others).  (The President does have veto power over certain legislation passed by the Senate.  But, it is not absolute as the Senate may over rule his veto.  Thus, the President does "not" pass laws.)

    The Legislative Branch comprised of the U.S. House of Representatives (elected from each state in the US - 435 representatives in all -- not uniformly elected from each state), the U.S. Senate (2 elected representatives from each state of the US -- 100 members) [they, in effect, make the laws.  The House members sponsor bills which are voted on in the various committees.  Once a bills passes with the proper number of votes, it is passed on to the US Senate.  If the Senators, after debating, vote for the passing of a bill, the bill becomes law], the Library of Congress (it maintains a listing of all of the items published in the US), the General Accountability Office (possibly the most important - is allegedly non-partisan.  Its job is to watch over the government and investigate misuse of public funds.  Its chief is the Comptroller General of the US.  He is appointed by the President for one (1) fifteen year term.), and the Government Printing Office (all official government publications are printed there (for each branch), including the budget of the USA and passports);

    The Judicial Branch comprised of the United States Supreme Court, the Federal Judicial Center, the United States Federal Courts, the United States Code, the United States Tax Court, the Public Access to Court Electronic Records

    (PACER), The United States Court of Appeals, and the

    First Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Eighth Circuit, Eleventh Circuit,

    Third Circuit,Sixth Circuit, Ninth Circuit, D.C. Circuit

    Fourth Circuit,Seventh Circuit, Tenth Circuit, and Federal Circuit Courts.  (These are the basic law courts of the USA, i.e., Federal District Courts, the US Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the USA.  They determine if the laws passed by the Congress (the House and the Senate) are constitutional.  They also enact the laws.)

  3. Executive: The President, passes laws

    Legislative: Congress & The Senate, makes laws

    Judicial: The Supreme Court, determines weather or not laws are constitutional.
