  2. 1. land, you need alot of space for solar farms.

    2. Equipment,  even though solar power has come along way the equipment is still large and fragile and the power conversion is still low

    3. power transmission,  even though you may have alot of land is it near a power line? is it near a city?

    4. (this most be a homework question)

What effect does panel placement have on the overall effective rating of a solar panel?

  3. Oil is cheaper.

We have the technolgy. We've had the technology since the 70's. It is just cheaper to generate electricty from gas or oil or coal.  Solar is EXPENSIVE... you need a LOT of solar cells, and you need a whole separate system to generate power on days when the sun isn't shining or it is night.

There is no fundamental problem with harnessing solar energy... we figured that technology out back in the 70s. The problem is harnessing solar energy costs a lot more per watt of power generated than coal or gas or hydroelectric plants.

  4. 1. Weather

    2. Space required by arrays

    3. Storage
