in society you have all kinds of people with different characters and attitudes that affect the society positively of negatively and to this effect sociologist have classified human into different group; the patriotic,the less patriotic and the Unpatriotic

this is perennial - society divides into 3 sectors / classes.   eg high middle low, the extremes and whatever is in between.  likewise with patriotism.  its usu the majority or the middle that are the most vocal / patriotic.  the negatives are always in the minority but they make the most noise.   the silent majority that ends up sometimes suffering or get intimidated.  but somehow the trend is usu the middle path as no one wants to take the extremes as there is a political cost - at the polls, powers can change hands.  then the social scene changes again
