REQUESTING YOUR REPORT VIA THE TELEPHONE

This information changes all of the time, so be sure to check before you call. You can call toll-free information at 800-555-1212 to check the number.

Experian: Call 888-397-3742. Fax: 972-390-3809. The voicemail system is available in Spanish or English. It will let you record your request if you were turned down for credit, employment, or insurance. If you weren't recently denied credit, it will quote a price and tell you how to write for a copy of your report.

Equifax: Call 888-873-5392. Fax: 888-664-4535 or 888-729-0083. The toll-free number has a voicemail system available in Spanish or English. It will let you record your request if you were turned down for credit, employment, or insurance.

TransUnion: Call 800-888-4213. Fax: 714-447-603 or 714-830-2449. The service is a recorded message available 24 hours a day. It asks you a few questions (available in English or Spanish) and your report is mailed within 72 hours via U.S. Postal Service (so allow 5 - 7 days for delivery). If you are faxing to TransUnion, please put "Attention: Consumer Relations" on the cover sheet. Caution: If your phone request gets lost, you'll have to write anyway. If your letter is later than 60 days after you were denied credit, employment, or insurance, you might have to pay for the report. Equifax also requests that you follow up your phone order with a written request containing proof of address, your driver's license, name, date of birth, and Social

    Security Number.

  2. It's easier if you actually saw your credit report before you try to dispute.

Go here for free reports, once per year.  Scam free site:

    http://www.annualcreditreport.com

    Look them over.

    Dispute online!

Or call them.  They will ask you which account you want to dispute, so having the reports in front of you will help.

    Transunion: 1-877-322-8228

    Experian: 1- 888 397 3742

    Equifax : 1-800-685-1111

  3. If you have an error you need to fix, then it can take some time to get it off.  The reporting agencies deal with so much information that its near impossible to for them to repsond to individual errors.

  4. Equifax, Experian, and Trans-Union, you can go online to google and find them.
