  1. Switzerland, UK and Israel in that order.

  2. U.S., Israel, Britain.

  3. I don't know why people are putting the Russian army in there top 3, there badly trained and have a habit of getting themselves killed in large numbers. i.e 17,000 were killed during there occupation of Iraq, world war

    2? 1,0000?

    1) British/Scottish/Irish

    2) Australian

    3) German

    4) Canadian

    5) Israeli

    6) Vietnamese  (jungle warfare)

    7) Netherlands

    8) Danish

    9) Swiss

    10) USA

  4. usa, germany, united kingdom

  5. Inarguably #1 is Britain

    #2 USA

    #3 South Korea

  6. USA, Israel, and China.

  7. Israel is by far number one. Every soldier there is prepared to shoot cause god knows how many terrorist attacks there are. They are also one of few nations that make joining the military mandatory.

  8. In terms of training: Israel, Russia, US

In terms of manpower: China by far.

In terms of military capability: US, UK, China, North Korea,

Saudi. Others such as Israel, Canada, etc fall under US

    since they're our sister countries

  9. 1. British Army (Yes, I'm British)

    2. US Army

    3. Israel Defense Forces

  10. US, CHINA, and Russia

  11. Britain 1st canary Islands 2nd and then Jamaica in 3rd! cant think of anyone else worth mentioning.

  12. British, Israeli, Salvation.

  13. Very subjective Q.  Each person is going to vote for his/her country.  You would need to lay down some parameters.

  14. British, US, Israel

  15. Best trained, well from my personal experience with the US Army there is a broad spectrum in itself there.  The 11B from the regular Army Infantry I met in Kuwait were poorly trained, but greatly equipped with gear.  They couldn't clear rooms worth a **** and their knowledge of tactics was very poor.  The NG infantry was even worse.  Now, the rangers and detachments from Detachment-D were the most highly trained individuals I've ever had the privilege to work with.  Though I will say the Rangers were better in terms of infantry while Det-D was better at CQB.  The Israeli army put me in awe in 2006, but their air force was out of this world.  As well, the British and French special forces are quite amazing as well.  Neglecting regular army infantry and focusing on special forces alone I would narrow it down to the US Army Det-D and Rangers, British SAS, Russian Spetsnaz, Marine Corps MARSOC, and French Foreign Legion.

  16. british at the top with german and possibly Israeli,s

  17. 1 - The British

    #2 - The Israelis/ USMC

    #3 - The US army

n.b. this list is for major powers only. i.e. Sweden have an exceptionally well trained army, but it's hardly deployable.

  18. British, USA, French Foreign Legion!

  19. There are no rankings as far as I know, so it basically depends who you ask.

It depends on the investment in army, so best funded should be best trained.

  20. I am an American and to be honest I have to go with the Brits, Aussies and Israelis. While our troops are pretty good, the Army is still stuck in the mindset that if they get troops hurt in training it is a career ender and they (Officer at the Flag Level) are more worried about the careers then they are about results, it is just the way it is and that is why you see an emphasis on "Operational Risk Management" and a lot of emphasis on going as hard and harsh as they should. The guys themselves are still super motivated (In the Combat Arms that is) but the guys who lead them tend to be a lot more skittish and worried about getting in trouble, having a bad fitrep, etc...it is like that thru all the branches in the US except the Marines and SpecOps Community.  The emphasis on the zero defect Officer and "safety" over realism as well as a habit of micor-management from the top is a big reason a lot of the Officers from the Academies get out after the time is up, last check the Army alone was losing over 60% of the West Point Grads and almost to a tee they cited those reasons as an influence on getting out. The Army of today is not the Army that fought in WWII, Korea or even Vietnam (in the good times).

The Brits have a very good and old system in that the Army is compirsed of regiments from the same area, this helps lend to traditions, history and no one wants to look bad in front of someone from home ;-) You combine that with hard and realsistic training and you get a good quality soldier.

The Aussies have many of the same qualities that the Brits have in there Army but they are also a lot more hard, they remind me of what the US used to be like a long time ago.

The Israelis are good due to the practical nature of the military and being under constant threat, when everyone wants to kill you it tends to make you train a little harder and be a little more innovative, so they do not bother with all the PC BS that we do.

I would put it man for man as

    Israel-1

    Britain-2

    Australia-3

but this is just for regular Army Infantry, not inlcuding Marines or SpecOps
