1. Museum Of Ethnology, Nguyen Van Huyen Road. www.vme.org.vn - for me, the best Museum in Vietnam. Covers all the minority groups of Vietnam.

2. Spend an afternoon wondering Hanoi's Old Quarter, 36 street of madness, but something everyone should do! Great photography

3. Highway 4 - 4 Hang Tre Street. Fabulous Vietnamese foods and traditional wines. Go upstairs and sit on the floor, relax and enjoy!

I would definitely suggest spending some time walking around the Old Quarter of the city at any time of day and around Hoan Kiem Lake in the morning when all the people are out doing their morning Ti Chi exercises, it's amazing!  The Hanoi Opera House is also worth a visit.
