  1. I don't know about ten but they speak Creole, French, and Spanish

  2. French is used for official communications in Haitian Government but CREOLE is used for everything... it's the common language on the island.  Engish is used but mostly in the port cities... Spanish is probably as common as English.  Someone said portuguese is becoming common.  Anyway.. there are NOT ten languages spoken in Haiti... and Creole is spoken by 100 PERCENT of Haitians... anything else is used a lot lot less.

AND... I didn't have to look this up in wikipedia because I LIVED in Haiti for about 2 years and can still speak Creole.

  3. Haiti's official languages are French and Haitian Creole.  Spanish is spoken by many along with the border with the Dominican Republic.  English is spoken by some in the public sector such as at hotels and importers. Haitian Vodoun Culture Language is an unclassified language spoken by a small few.  It is also known as Langaj.

Portuguese is now a commonly heard language in Haiti due to the large and long standing presence of Brazilian soldiers who are part of the U.N. Peacekeeping Forces that have been in the country since President Aristide was overthrown.

  4. There are 10!  OMG!  Wow!  I mean, I know people from Haiti, and they can barely speak English...they can't understand me in Spanish, and their French sucks as well.  I guess that leaves Creole only.  Seul un commentaire....y nada mas...
