I'm going to Italy for two weeks and want to know the top places not to miss! And not just the obvious ones like Rome, Venice and Pisa... Maybe places either a little more out there or unheard of!

  1. the colleseum, the sistine chapel, the statue of david, probably AC Milan soccer club, and the leaning tower of piza.

  2. Well the obvious ones you aready know of;

    Rome:

    -Trevi Fountain

    -The Sistine Chapel

    -The Pieta by Michelangelo

    -The Vatican

    -Patheon

    -Coloseum

    -Basilica di San Clemente

    -Roman Forum

I would recommend to buy an everyday bus ticket, that leaves you in the most important areas. It's not that expensive and it saves you a lot of time. And remember if you are under 26 years (or a student) you usually get discounts in museums.

    Florence:

-Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery

-Climb the Cupola (dome) of the Duomo

    -Piazza della Signoria

    -Santa Croce

    -Dante's House

    -Tombs of the Famous

    Venice:

    -Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale)

-Saint Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco)

-St. Mary of the Friars (Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari)

    -Grand Canal

-St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco)

    -Palazzo Grassi

Also you might like to take a look to Milan, very important fashion city, and if you have time deff take a look at Campania, http://www.thereareplaces.com/Guidebook/...

    or maybe Sicily, http://www.thereareplaces.com/Guidebook/...

It all depends on your personal taste.

Hope it helps, have fun in your trip.

  3. castiglione della pescaia

    saturnia

    viareggio

    sirmione

    vinci

    arezzo
