  2. I would def agree with Skylar on Portage Bay Cafe in the University District (although they've opened up a new one, I understand, but I haven't been yet) for the best breakfast!  They have AMAZING and organic foods!  You must try the pancakes and the chicken-basil sausage!  Both are extremely worth the visit themselves!

Also, on breakfasts, Salty's (on Alki in West Seattle) Brunch Buffet on the weekends is also pretty fantastic!  Great food, great views, and then a great locale to walk off some of the added calories you just ate!  From an omelette bar to great seafood, eggs benedict, and more, you'll need the walk after such a scrumptuous meal!

I'd also agree with Canlis being one of the top restaurants in Seattle.  It's right at the edge of the southend of the Aurora Bridge and from service to food, you will have an exquisite dining experience here!

Another place, frequently mentioned and well-deserved is Metropolitan Grill, downtown on 2nd Ave.  A great place oft touted as the "best Steakhouse in town", it's known all around the country as one of the top places to stop.  The bar here is a great place to stop and have a few drinks and happy hour appetizers if you're not going to sit for dinner!

The Seastar Restaurant in Bellevue, John Howie's (of Palisade fame) is fantastic!  My parents have been big fans of John since he was at Palisade and would call him for his prime rib and other offerings and his restaurant in Bellevue was def worth following him to the Eastside for!  The seafood here is fantastic!  The Poke is delish and the seared Ahi is fantastic!  The different salmon offerings, like the plank cooked are fantastic as well!  Although it's not in Seattle-proper, this place is worth the trek to Bellevue!
