What are the top universities here in the UK for biomedical sciences?

My son is doing an undergraduate masters degree in biomedical science at Hull.  It is affilited and funded by the NHS and he receives a bursary each month and they pay his fees.  

He will come out after 4 years with above degree level and working towards his masters.  He will be a fully trained biomedical scientist when he graduates and will not have to do 'training' in a hospital after his course.

Just make sure which ever one you choose is accredited and that you don't need to do further training.
