  1. NE:  Chowders, seafoods incl. lobster, clams, shrimp

    Heartland: Chicken and Beef roasts, potatoes, corn on cob

    SW: Tex-Mex influence, hot and spicy

    Pacif. West:  Salmon, seafoods, Chinese-Oriental influence


  2. New England:maple syrup, cranberries, lobster, cheddar cheese, clams, clam chowder, Boston baked beans, hasty pudding and New England boiled dinner.

    Midwest:Beef, beer, coleslaw, lutefisk, pirogi, potatoes, turkey, jello salads, loose meat sandwiches, sausages

    Southwest: hot peppers, corn, beef, salsas, chili, cornbread, rice and beans and barbecue

    Pacific West Coast: If you mean California, there is an influence of different ethnicities and the common denominator is freshness. You'll see alot of artichokes, mahi mahi/fresh seafood, figs, almonds and dates.
