What are the travel options from Cancum to Cozumel?

take the bus to playa and catch the ferry....busses travel at all times and the ferry does too....way cheaper than the plane ride....

Your options are:

- you can fly.  There are plenty of flights between the two cities.  However you probably would spend more time in airports than flying and it will cost you over $100 USD each way.

- You can catch a bus ride from Cancun to Playa del Carmen and then catch the Ferry from there to Cozumel.  The bus is fairly safe, clean and fast.  It runs very often and is very inexpensive.  The Ferry runs every 30 minutes or so and it takes about 30 minutes to cross.

Bus to Playa del Carmen, ferry to Coz.  It takes about 2 hours total from the airport, depending on wait time for the ferry...pain in the hiney if you have lots of scuba gear.  I think the Ferry is something like $7 one way.

Or you can catch a puddle jumper.  It's about a 20 minute flight. Considering the cost, the amount of time spent getting from the international terminal to getting any bags re-checked...it's at least the same amount of time and twice the hassle....and a real pain if you're hauling scuba gear, which, on those little flights, can tend to get lost in transit, because the planes are so small, they don't let you take carryon.  I believe flights can be around $100 one way.

Or you can swim...but it's a really long swim and the turtles don't like it when you try and hitch a ride.
