  1. The only one that i remember of is Genghis Khan, because when he and his army conquered it, they destroyed all the irrigation systems that it had, and made it into the wasteland it is now.

I'm sorry I just remembered that it wasn't wasn't Ghengis, but Hulagu Khan, a grandson of Ghengis Khan the one who destroyed Mesopotamia's irrigation system.

    good luck.

  2. Good grief, dude. Where did you get Genghis Khan?

The Akkadians and Assyrians invaded Mesopotamia. Not in that order, but if you want to look it up, there is a very big encyclopedia online.:)

  3. The early dynastic period under the Sumarians came to an end when Sargon created the worlds first empire by unifying Sumer and Akkad around 2300 BC; the Sargonic empire lasted about 150 years.  The hordes of Guti from the south, and their subsequent expulsion, initiated the Third Dynasty of Ur.  The nomadic Amorites caused the downfall of Ur III around 2004 BC; the Ur III dynasty lasted about 100 years and with its fall went Sumarian civilization. At the beginning of the 18th century, the ruler of Babylon was Hammurabi and In short order he conquered and unified the whole of Mesopotamia, and Babylon became its greatest city.  The Hittites invaded Babylon around 1600 BC but they could not hold the territory so into this vacuum came the Kassites from the Zagros mountains who held the territory for about 400 years .  Next came the Assyrians and the Assyrian Empire which lasted about 300 years.   A brief period of Babylonian hegemony ended when Babylon fell to the Persians, who in turn fell to the Greeks under Alexander.
