  1. 1.) Fuel

    2.) Fuel

    3.) Fuel

Even before oil prices began to climb, fuel is the largest expense an airline has.  After that, the planes (most are leased) are the most expensive, including maintenance and the equipment to support them. Then the employees salary and benefits.

  2. aircraft lease and terminal space rent

could also count maintenance, but some count that as operating although inspections can be required by calander

don't fall for fuel it is an operating cost

if you don't fly fuel is not neccessary  plus companies like southwest buy large quantaties and turn profit by selling barrels back for more than they paid.  buy a tanker at 1.2 and sell it for 2

  3. 1) Cost and maintenance of machines and equipment.

    2) Fuel (especially these days).

  4. Fuel and personnel expense.

  5. 1) Fuel

    2) Labor
