it is quite a pointless chapter, it shows the 2 main characters lennie and george wakling down a road to get to the farm where they look for work bucking barley- it shows lennie love of animals but his strength ends up killing the mice

It's been a while since i have read the book, but I think it's when George finds out that Lenny is hiding dead animals in his pocket and refuses to stop his obsession with keeping them. Then the whole getting a new job, and not let people know their experiences.
