  1. I don't understand this stanza, but I can find two poetic devices.

    1) On line three: alliteration of initial /m/ sounds.

    2) Figurative language/metaphor: `lighted windows/...made/a hundred private worlds' compares the insides of buildings to `private worlds.'

    I don't understand `made mysterious' in line two, though.
