  1. they do all this through the school. If they are not testing your child, be persistent!! they will do it. They will do psychological, intelligence, as well as physical testing (eyes, ears, etc.).


  2. Start with dyslexia, search for a free dyslexia test online. Better tests use color naming response times.

       Sound lame and confusing? It is. Identifying dyslexia, the most common learning disability is practically impossible! Now try dyscalculia, even worse! There are reams of research on these topics, and people still use guesswork out of necessity.

  3. I am not sure of which assesments are done in public schools to determine if a child has a learning disability.

    Schools ONLY do testing to see if a child can qualify for special education services. They do NOT do assesments 'just to see' what a childs learning disabilities are.

    When school does the evaluation to determine if child qualifies for special ed services, the learning disabilities do show up in this evaluation.
