What are the typical times in a hghschool girls varsity xc race?

like what would be a winning, average, and losing time?

a varsity race would have to be under 22 minutes for a 5k race (3.1 miles). that's because to make varsity, the runners have to make at least that time. the winning times would be whoever is the fastest so you can't really determine but it would be around 18-19 minutes. same goes for average and losing but average times would be nearer to 20-21. then losing times would be about 22 minutes or more.

at the meet we just had a few days ago the winning time was 18 soemthing. mine was 20.12 and i got 14 place and i think there were like almost 200 people there. so probably 20-24 is average and then everything else after that is kinda slow, its not really a losing time, you still finished the race and worked hard so i wouldnt call it that.

winning would be around 19 minutes, average around 21-23 minutes, and losing around 26 and below

remember this is all just averages and guesswork in a varsity race
