no they are not to be used recreationally.  they are espically bad if you have prediagnosed heart conditions.  they work by inhbiting the phospodiesterase that eats up the cyclic gmp product used in the second messenger system of parasympathetic innervation.  the increased cyclic gmp will prolong the excitation and release of NO, which dilates blood vessels. oh, the phosphodiesterase is phosphodiesterase 5, otherwise, it would be fatal if it weren't specific to the p***s.
