  1. You can avoid your snake throwing up by making sure that they are not too cold - they have the right temperature in their enclousure, and by not handling them after feeding.

If a snake is going to barf, there is usually no warning at all.

  2. Usually there are none.  If you happen to witness it, the snake may become agitated, then start moving backwards and regurgitate the food as it goes backwards.  Most people have never seen a regurge, they just come into the room and the snake has done it already.

  3. Hello; to be honest, the best warning signs that a snake is going to throw up are:

    A. If your temperatures in the cage are too cold.

    B. If you feed them too large of a meal.

or C. If you do something to cause them stress (handle them, etc) within 24-48 hours within them being fed.

While snakes will often act a bit restless before regurgitation, the best warning signs that a snake may vomit are the snake's captive care and environment. :)

Here is a really great, detailed website on regurgitation in snakes, the causes, how to prevent it, and what to do about it if it does happen. :)

I hope this helps, and if you have any further questions at all on the subject; please feel free to message me and I will be more than happy to assist you.

    Good luck!
