  1. flouride stains, from over use. yes, you can over use it, toothpastes, treatment rinses (like the kids in a school dental care program), or flouride tablets.my kids were on tabs because we have well water, which isn't treated like city water supplies. flouride is good for your teeth, but like mega doses of vitamins, or just about anything, in quantities it's not good for you.

  2. These are defects in the enamel on the tooth. Typically these result from a problem when the tooth was forming while the "owner" was an infant. High fever's and/or use of some kinds of anti-biotics are thought to interfere with the formation of the tooth enamel. this does not appear until these adult teeth erupt and grow in. Good dental practice is to apply fluoride and sealants to reduce the tendy to decay.

  3. It can be decalcification, which is where the tooth is starting to get a cavity. It could be fluorosis, which is ingesting too much fluoride while the tooth is forming (in childhood). It could be caused by some medications taken while the tooth is forming, although this is less common now. It could be due to a high temperature when the tooth is forming in. It could be due to trauma while the tooth is forming. And it could be a build up of calculus otherwise called tartar which must be removed by having them cleaned. And lastly, when you whiten your teeth it can dehydrate them and cause temporary spots.

    Hope that helps!
