  1. each school district has its own teacher contract so there is no set salary, benefits or rights nationwide...private usually pays less than public...big states pay more than little states...cities pay more than rural areas and the suburbs always pay the most...

  2. I'm no expert on this, but I would suggest you have a look here, there is expert's ideas you mayfind.http://health-insurance.online-tips4u.in...

  3. All of the benefits you mention are negotiable.  The more tenure a teacher has, the more bargaining power they have.  The more critical the subject (Math or Science), the more bargaining power they have.  Money wise, not much.  Teachers do it more for passion rather than for the money.  The money is good in some areas, not so good in many others, but that is not usually the driving factor for being a teacher.  Pension and health plans are negotiated with the district and usually available to all in the district, but that also varies from state to state, since Boards of Education are not a Federal entity.  I have heard pros and cons about public and private, and as strange as it may sound, public is likely better for benefits than private.  Good luck.
