Well, I forgot the name of this book about a girl who goes to an arcade place to play a simulated game and she ends up getting stuck in it. I remember that she got angry at a bus in the beginning of the book and insulted it by saying that its 'mother was a toaster'. In the arcade game she ends up dying a bunch, once by poison,& its in a castle. I believe it was set sort of in the future...
The other book I was wondering about was set in the future where groups of teenagers(?) were sent to colonize other worlds, but first they are sent to play 'the game' where they get to virtually live in that world for a few hours a week. Its centered around a group of kids who just graduated(at the beginning of the book) and end up living together in some weird little house that they upgrade themselves every week with new security systems of their own making. They don't know what is happening until they are actually sent to the places (in egg like things) to live forever.
